Charmayne Maxwell, a member of the all-girls group Brownstone in the 1990s, died Friday night after her husband found her at home, bleeding profusely from a cut on her neck.
Was she 46 years old.
According to TMZ insiders, Maxwell was found on the floor of her Los Angeles home around 9 p.m. It appeared as if she cut herself on a wine glass.
Maxwell’s husband called 911 and the artist was being transported to Cedars Sinai Hospital when she passed away.
Authorities searched Maxwell’s residence after this tragic incident and do not suspect foul play.
"R.I.P my beautiful sister Charmayne ‘Maxee’ Maxwell. I can’t even believe I’m typing this right now,” Tweeted the singer’s brother, Brandon, last night, adding:
“Bad things happened to the most innocent people. My sister died in the most terrible way, and I’m in so much pain right now."
Brownstone was signed to Michael Jackson’s MJJ Music label. The group earned a Billboard Music Awards and Grammy nomination for the 1995 track “If You Love Me.”
Brandon also took to Instagram to slam reports of suicide, labeling them as "BS."
Charmayne Maxwell is survived by her husband Carsten Soulshock and their son. The news of her death was initially confirmed to Danish paper Ekstra Bladet by Charmayne’s mother-in-law, who is Danish.
