Time heals all wounds? For Andi Dorfman and Nick Viall, it appears that's the case, despite an epically awkward end to their courtship on The Bachelorette.
Chris Soules came out smelling like roses, if you'll excuse the pun, following The Bachelor season finale and After the Final Rose special this week.
Not only was Soules' proposal to Whitney Bischoff nothing short of magical, but his breakup with Becca Tilley went as smoothly as it possibly could.
Seriously. Forget Bachelor history. This was the cleanest, most amicable and mutually respectful parting of ways in the history of human civilization.
For Andi Dorfman and Nick Viall, whose Bachelorette breakup and After the Final Rose reunion was beyond painful, the contrast was not lost on them.
"Hoping this After the Final Rose goes better than mine... #TheBachelor," Andi, 27, tweeted in reference to Nick, 34, and his TMI live TV revelations.
Dorfman chose Josh Murray over Nick, who unlike Becca did not take it well. At all. He was so crushed, he bizarrely brought up their time in the Fantasy Suite.
"If you weren't in love with me, I'm just not sure why, like, why you made love with me," Viall asked Dorfman, believing they were doing "fiance type stuff."
A mortified Dorfman snapped back that the love-making comment was "below the belt" and she and Josh were clearly not fans of Nick after he pulled that.
Viall knows he went too far, and having reflected on this for nine months, waxed nostalgic about that night, sharing a photo of himself and Andi.
"When keepin it real goes wrong," he captioned it. "Best of luck to the lovely lady who doesn't end up in Iowa tonight. #TheBachelor #afr #fiancetypestuff"
"Something tells me Becca will be more composed than I was," Nick added, self-deprecatingly. "She will at least keep it above the belt. #TheBachelor."
Andi and Nick may never date again after this (you have to wonder how he reacted to her breakup with Josh), even though both are now single.
She not only ditched Josh, she's pulled up the stakes and left Atlanta behind for New York, where Nick has also been recently, sparking rumors.
They both have a sense of humor about their uncomfortable encounter, in any case, and see very much eye to eye when it comes to Chris Soules.
"I just think Whitney brings out the best in Chris. Thats as good as it gets #TheBacehlor," Viall wrote Monday of his former rival and his new fiancee.
Dorfman added: "Seriously so happy for @C_Soules and @whitbisch. Wishing you nothing but the absolute best! Both of you deserve it! #TheBachelor."
