Vanilla Ice has been arrested for burglary after allegedly stealing furniture, a pool heater, bicycles and other belongings from a home that he was being paid to renovate in Florida.
TMZ reports that Ice was doing repairs in the home as part of his reality show, The Vanilla Ice Project, which is apparently a thing.
If you’re old enough to remember Ice’s heyday then you know it was a long, long time ago, and the one-hit wonder rapper has had many ups and downs in the years since.
In addition to Ice’s current reality show, he starred in Vanilla Ice Goes Amish on the DIY network, because apparently his life hadn’t been ridiculous enough up to that point.
Since then Ice has lectured Justin Bieber on the importance of living a genuine life, fronted an awful rap-metal band, and…oh yeah, stolen a bunch of stuff from a house he was renovating.
In fairness, the house had been vacated, but the owner hadn’t finished moving out and apparently had a problem with Ice’s “finders keepers” interpretation of the law.
Police obtained a search warrant and recovered most of the items from Ice’s home, where the rapper was taken into custody.
There’s no word on when he might face trial. Word you your mother.
