As fan anticipation for season 5 of Game of Thrones continues to build, the show’s creators have generously tossed rabid fans a few scraps for us to fight over like the Fleabottom peasants that we are.
First they gave us the Game of Thrones making-of documentary "A Day in the Life," which offered some surprising insights into the plot and casting decisions that have so often baffled fans of George R.R. Martin’s source material.
Then, the showrunners promised some major deaths in season 5 of Thrones, which was ironically comforting news, as the pace of the story slows down considerably in books 4 and 5 of GRRM’s 7-volume epic, and, well…we don’t watch GoT to see people not die, right?
Anyway, the latest gift from D.B. Weiss and David Benioff is a pair of deleted scenes released along with the GoT season 4 DVD:

In that first scene, Bronn basically confirms to Shae that everyone in King’s Landing is a P.O.S. – Tyrion included.
We’re always in favor of more Bronn, but despite some witty dialogue, we can definitely see why this one wound up on the cutting room floor.
It doesn’t tell us anything we don’t already know, and time is of the essence when you’re trying to tell a tale as epic as Martin’s.
Unfortunately, the same criticism could be applied to the scene below:
It features a brief conversation between Daenerys and Missandei that takes place after the Khaleesi banished Jorah Mormont.
The point seems to be that Daenerys has a hard time finding people she can trust, which…no doi. The previous scene already sent that message.
Like we said, these are but appetizers before the main feast. Game of Thrones season 5 debuts on HBO April 12, and if you open your windows, you’ll be able to hear us squealing with delight for an entire week leading up to it.
