Family Guy went especially meta this week.
At the outset of Family Guy Season 13 Episode 8, viewers appeared to be in for a nightmare: not a Meg-centric half hour!
But a random citizen proceeded to say what we were all thinking toward the end of the first act: Oh, thank god Brian’s getting a book published. I thought this was going to be a Meg episode.
Turns out the focus was very much on Brian, most notably a brain tumor that suddenly made the dog very dumb.
This appealed to Peter, who took time to show his pet all the advantages of having a low IQ, which led to Family Guy sort of mocking The Big Bang Theory when Brian quipped "Bazinga!" at one point.
But the most memorable of all Family Guy quotes from this episode came when Stewie appeared to Brian’s newfound idiocy in order to get him to see a physician.
"Hey Brian, you want to go see Doctor Hartman and get that procedure where you get two weiners?" he asked his friend.
"Whoa, hell yeah!" Brian replied. "That way when I watch Black Swan, I can aim one at that Natalie Portman, and aim the other one at…"
"Yes, yes, yes, we all know who the other one was," responded Stewie.
The other one in that film, of course, was played by Mila Kunis… who voices Meg on Family Guy!
In the end, as you’ll see when you watch Family Guy online, Stewie helped restore full brain function to his pal. But should he have done so?
"I was having fun, making new friends, getting laid all the time, sleeping like a rock, but you made the call," Brian said. "You unilaterally decided I was better off a bitter alcoholic failure who could only hang out with a baby."
Stewie’s awesome response? Hey, we have fun!
