Bruce Jenner's long-rumored gender transformation has long fueled intense arguments with now ex-wife Kris Jenner, according to a new report.
The Olympic legend's apparently serious "wish to transition from male to female" will reportedly be documented on a new docu-series, insiders say.
This Bruce Jenner sex change reality show is the culmination of something he's desired for a long time - like before he and Kris were married.
Family sources say wanted to transition before they married, and that tension over his gender expression fueled fights between the couple.
Media speculation that the 65-year-old former Olympian may be transitioning into a woman has been fueled by a slew of reports and photographs.
Bruce allegedly had surgery to flatten his Adam's apple, has been sporting long hair and nail polish, and generally appearing more feminine.
Recently, In Touch controversially Photoshopped a picture of Bruce in makeup and women's clothes, titled Bruce's Story: My Life As a Woman.
That was the last straw: "Being that he's such an icon, it took a while for him to decide to do this," a source says. "But he wants to put it all out there."
"He feels like he doesn't have anything to lose."
Famous daughters and step-daughters Kourtney, Khloe, Kim, Kendall and Kylie, plus his sons and daughter from his previous marriages, have his back.
Kim Kardashian supports Bruce's journey all the way, she says, and will never waver in standing by him, though she says it's his story to tell.
"I think everyone goes through things in life, and I think that story and what Bruce is going through ... he'll share whenever the time is right," she told ET.
"He's our dad so we support him no matter what."
"I feel like that's his journey to talk about."
Bruce's solidarity with his children on this complicated issue reportedly doesn't extend to his relationship with his former wife of 23 years, Kris.
According to the new cover story in Us Weekly, when Bruce met Kris on a blind date in 1990, he was already taking steps to live as a woman.
He had allegedly already consulted with his doctors, but Us says, according to a family source, Kris "talked Bruce out of acting on his feelings."
"Kris caught Bruce putting on her clothes, but she thought she could change him. She thought it was a phase he was going through for attention."
"They had massive arguments about it," and as a result, "he still feels a lot of anger and animosity toward Kris for suppressing his feminine side."
Nevertheless, Bruce is in a good place now.
"He's the happiest I've ever seen him," Kim told ET on Monday, while other sources concur that he couldn't be happier these days being himself.
