Rainn Wilson has made his return to television.
But the actor behind one of the funniest characters in small screen history has left his stapler at home.
Indeed, Everett Backstrom is quite the departure from Dwight Schrute, as this is a man who doesn’t like his job very much.

He’s overweight. He’s offensive. He’s crude. He’s irascible.
But he’s a pretty darn good detective who is constantly struggling with his self-destructive behavior while working as part of a team of eccentric criminologists.
The comedic drama is based on the Swedish book series by Leif G. W. Persson and executive producer by Hart Hanson of Bones fame.
Backstrom also stars Page Kennedy, Kristoffer Polaha, Thomas Dekker and Dennis Haysbert and it’s off to a pretty good start. Just think House… but with criminals, not patients.
Did you catch the opener? Are you glad to have Wilson back in your living room? Will you be giving the show another chance next Thursday night?
