Top Chef Season 12 Episode 5 Recap: War in Beantown!

by at .  Updated at .

Boston, Massachusetts, is the city of champions. Or so its residents would like you to believe when it comes to their sports teams' recent success.

You can't argue with that, love 'em or hate 'em.

It's a fitting moniker for this particular group of aspiring culinary stars, who again battled it out in Beantown last night on Top Chef Season 12 Episode 5.

The setting this time was a head-to-head showdown for the Quickfire Challenge that involved a lot of high-test energy and guest judge Jamie Bissonnette.

To the victor, a great deal of pride. And 10 grand.

In the Elimination Challenge, the losers from the first challenge were given a shot at redemption, cooking as a team and taking on the Quickfire Winners.

And, as if that weren't enough, the hopefuls had to think up the best dishes they could make on a lean budget in a Revolutionary War themed food fight.

Held at the historic Watertown Arsenal, fittingly.

It was a competitive week, and one that really combined the history and culture of Boston, which is getting its money's worth out of hosting this season!
