After months of rumors and speculation, the full title for Star Wars Episode VII has finally been revealed.
Disney casually dropped the bombshell just moments ago by tweeting the photo below:
The pic was captioned, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens has completed principal photography."
Based on early fan reactions, The Force Awakens is receiving a much more favorable reaction than previously rumored titles like The Order of the Jedi or The Ancient Fear.
Official announcements from J.J. Abrams and company have been few and far between, so expect rabid fans to break out their light saber scalpels and dissect the title for any clues as to what the highly-anticipated film might have in store.
Aside from the Episode VII cast announcement back in April, just about every aspect of the production has been kept top secret.
Fan sites have posted spoilers from folks claiming to be involved in the making of the film, but very little reliable information has emerged from the set.
Here's what we know for certain, thus far:
- Episode VII will be as star-studded as episodes one through.
- The film will feature the Millenium Falcon.
- Fans will continue to post wild online speculations with regard to the film's plot details.
But hey, we're still more than a year away from the release date, so we'll gobble up every bit of info like the Sarlacc Pit for the next 13 months.
