While they always maintain their royal poise in public, Kate Middleton and Prince William are only human, and they’re vulnerable to the same feelings of anger and jealousy as any other married couple.

We’ll never see them squabble with one another in front of the press or the peasants, but private moments are rare for the Prince and the Duchess, so they sometimes let their facades down long enough for the public to see what they’re really like.

Last month, we heard (probably fabricated) reports of the Will and Kate “fighting constantly” and sleeping in separate rooms. This week, we have an amusing anecdote about Will showing his envious side, and this one actually comes from a credible source!

Kate, Will, Elizabeth

Comedian Jack Whitehall performed for the royal couple during a recent charity event. Whitehall attended the same school as Kate, and he joked about having a “crush” on her, at one point referring to the Duchess as “the one that got away.”

During a recent interview with Graham Norton, Whitehall revealed that Will rushed over to him after the show and seemed less than pleased with the performance:

“He was very nice, but very passive-aggressive,” Whitehall says of Will. The comic claims Will accused of him of “flirting with [his] missus,” before catching himself and saying, ‘Oh no that was very funny!”

Hopefully the future king will be able to keep his insecurities in check when Will and Kate visit New York next month.

Palace officials have reportedly arranged for Kate to meet LeBron James, and the whole thing could turn hilariously ugly if Will is really the jealous type.
