On last night’s Manzo’d With Children Season 1 Episode 1, a former Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member returned with her new Bravo spinoff series.

Is it worth watching, though, compared with the show she started on?

Manzo’d With Children Season 1 Episode 1 re-introduces us to Caroline Manzo, who not-so-famously split from the franchise for her own half-hour series.

Jacqueline Laurita, who is Caroline’s sister-in-law, will join her along with her kids … who are back and driving her up the wall. No surprise there!

Albie and Chris ditched their bachelor pad to move back into her place to save money, while Lauren’s gearing up for her wedding to fiance Vito Scalia.

So much upper middle class drama in Franklin Lakes!

In On Manzo’d With Children Season 1 Episode 2, she pushes them to broaden their world view a bit, which in her mind means a trip to trapeze camp.

That sums up just about all you need to know here.

The bottom line is that the orchestrated road trips, plastic surgery talk, grating but entertaining family squabbling and bling bling of Bravo are still here.

It’s a little light on the hair-pulling insanity, though.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Depends what you watch for, basically, and the network is banking on the fact that enough people will enjoy this.

If Real Housewives of New Jersey Lite sounds appealing, watch Manzo’d With Children online and give it a try, because there are some redeeming qualities.

For instance, in the first episode, Lauren wants Botox injected into her armpits to keep them dry so she won’t literally sweat pools at her wedding.

Caroline is opposed, logically, albeit only because Lauren already had a recent gastric surgery and breast reduction, but Lauren wins this argument.

She actually got Botox in her armpits. Amazing.

Later, we see Lauren shopping for wedding dresses, recalling her teen years as a more overweight version of Lauren, and rallying against bullying.

If she reach out to all the young overweight girls, she says, she’d tell them you’re beautiful on the inside and out, and to never let the haters get you down.

Just go get three significant plastic surgeries?

Plenty of other sight gags and one-liners await, such as when Caroline blames her weight on her sizable boobs and suggests trying to weigh them.

Son Chris notes, "they’re not newborns."

At the end of the day, the close-knit clan can be a little cringe-worthy, but they’re close-knit, content and loving. No mother-effing drama up in here.

Rino Aprea will handle that subject on The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6 Episode 12 though, so check that out too if you missed it.
