Did you catch the first official Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 trailer?
Intense stuff, right? Brutal? Serious? Suspenseful? Intriguing? Not exactly any sort of romantic film with comedic aspirations, correct?
But what if The Hunger Games took quite an unexpected shift for the third movie of this wildly successful franchise? What if it were billed as a perky, fun adventure in which Jennifer Lawrence's character had to choose between two appealing male suitors?
Jimmy Kimmel asked and answered that question on his talk show last night.
"Katniss was in a difficult situation," a male voice narrates in the faux trailer above, referencing Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and explaining of her dilemma:
"He was down to earth and aimed straight for her heart. He was a big TV star. But in the end, who will have her back and who will stand by her side? Because sometimes it's the things we love the most that can set us free."
The video then lists the fake film's stars and title, as "Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Katherine Heigl" will be starring this fall in "Cupid's Arrow."
Yes, Katherine Heigl. HA! We love it!
The real Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 comes out on November 21.
