Lil Twist is off the hook for his 2013 DUI arrest, despite stumbling, swaying and generally making a mess out of his field sobriety test.
Turns out he was intoxicated … just not that intoxicated.
In a Twist of fate (sorry), the rapper and Justin Bieber roommate was pulled over for driving 69 in a 30 m.p.h. and running a red light last summer.

Police noticed a lit blunt in the center console and smelled weed, then noticed his eyes were bloodshot and his speech was “deliberate and lethargic.”
Twist admitted he’d been smoking, then couldn’t touch his nose, walk a straight line or stand up straight on one leg during his field sobriety test.
The officers arrested Lil Twist for DUI in what appeared to be an open-and-shut case and big, big trouble for Bieber’s buddy, but the case was dropped.
Why? For the following reasons:
- Despite his ineptitude on the scene, a blood sample collected later showed the weed in his system was not high enough to indicate impairment.
- Twist’s field sobriety results were only “moderately bad.”
- A criminologist couldn’t say he was impaired to drive.
He was charged in the end with speeding, failing to stop at a red light and possession of less than an ounce of weed, but the DUI charge was tossed.
Big break for this Lil rapper.
