The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi's Wedding Brings Drama For the Ages

The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi's Wedding premiered last night on Bravo, and featured a heavy dose of the antagonist everyone loves to hate:

Mama Joyce!

Joyce steals the show, for better or worse, as you know if you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online. But she was far from the only source of drama.

From Kandi's choice of theme to her wedding planner's complete lack of experience planning weddings, the whole thing was off the proverbial chain.

The fact that she wanted a Coming to America-themed wedding, and for it to be inexpensive, yet apparently also have live animals says it all.

As does the fact that Kandi just hires her friends/assistants to plan her wedding and none of them seem to have the slightest clue what they're doing.

Perhaps most glaring? Asking a designer pal to design the dress ... just five weeks in advance of the big day. Oh, and eight bridesmaids dresses too.

But it's all about Mama Joyce, who goes out to lunch with some of the aunts and makes rude comments about Todd's parents ... and Todd personally.

According to Joyce, he's not looking out for Kandi's best interests, since he let her gain weight. Way to really trash both of them at once there, MJ.

Later, when Kandi makes comments about her own weight, her mom preaches self-love, only to turn around and share her own opinions anyway.

She is pretty much the worst.

Fortunately, we known Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker got married, and seem happy, so we can take all of this with a grain of salt and some laughter.

Nevertheless, it's a little uncomfortable watching her mom run roughshod all over her and hard not to roll your eyes at how this event came together.

Don't you think? Discuss!
