In case you're somehow unaware, the FIFA World Cup is in full swing. (Hence the sudden influx of soccer-related status updates in your Facebook feed.)
But while millions wait with bated breath to learn the outcome of the Cameroon vs. Croatia match, some folks are already wondering about something far more important: who's gonna hand the trophy over to the eventual winners?
Typically the prize is presented by the leader of the host nation. But following his decision to spend $11 billion on a soccer tournament when millions of his citizens are starving, Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff would almost certainly be a target for jagged projectiles.
The solution? Gisele Bundchen - face of Chanel No. 5 and arguably Brazil's most popular citizen has reportedly been asked by FIFA to preside over the trophy ceremony.
The Boston Globe reports that "barring any riots that would make it unsafe," Bundchen has agreed to do the honors.
The best part of all this? Gisele's husband Tom Brady was a dancing machine last time he was in Brazil and we'd give just about anything to see an encore performance of the Tommy Two-Step.
Besides, Brady was reportedly so upset after being ousted from the playoffs that he didn't even watch the 2014 Super Bowl. He should be allowed to someone win an award for playing football this year.
