Dave Brockie, the lead singer of heavy metal band Gwar, was found dead early Sunday morning, sitting upright in a chair at his home in Richmond, Virginia.

He was 50 years old.

Known as “Oderus Urungus” and the frontman for a group worshipped by Beavis & Butthead on their MTV series, the cause of Brockie’s death is unknown at this time.

“There were no drugs found, as far as I know,” a law enforcement officer tells TMZ.

No suicide note was found at the scene and police do not believe Brockie took his own life. His corpse was found by a roommate.

Gwar rose to stardom due to their over-the-top horror show music videos and unusual costumes (see above). They also had a cameo in the cult film Empire Records.
