Former NFL star Terrell Owens’ estranged wife Rachel Snider has been hospitalized following an alleged suicide attempt, a number of reports indicate.
She is said to be serious condition in Texas after leaving Owens when their marriage collapsed after two weeks.Rachel Snider tweeted on Tuesday:
“Just a little broken down right now … suffering from a broken heart.”
There are no specific details as to Snider’s injuries, though TMZ claims that she pulled out of the marriage because Owens was using her for her money.
Snider, who is reportedly a postal worker from the town of Beaumont, claimed Owens only married her to obtain a $2 million loan on a house in California.
He denied this and reports of his financial duress through a rep.
The couple allegedly met on Twitter and starting talking then Owens flew out to visit her. The couple married at a courthouse in Norwalk, Calif., on January 23.
Soon after, however, things took a sharp turn for the worse.
Snider said they were in a secret relationship for years, and that “I really valued his love and friendship for five years. Out of the love in my heart, I tried to help him.”
“We had a secret relationship for five years … I married him for love.”
Later, Rachel added on Twitter, “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls. The most massive characters are seared with scars.”
Here’s hoping she emerges healthy from whatever happened.
Owens, 40, played 15 years in the NFL and earned $80 million, but has four kids by four different women, and has had legendary child support problems.
He owes a reported $45,000 per month, on top of the fact that he admits suffering from money problems due to bad investment and poor management.
