NBA legend Michael Jordan and his second wife, Yvette Prieto, welcomed the birth of identical twin baby daughters in Florida on Sunday, February 9.
Estee Portnoy, MJ’s spokeswoman, confirmed the births of Victoria and Ysabel, who are Yvette’s first two children and His Airness’ fourth and fifth.
“Yvette Jordan and the babies are doing well and the family is overjoyed at their arrival,” Portnoy said in a statement regarding the joyous news.
Jordan and Yvette Prieto, a Cuban-American former model, dated for a number of years before he proposed in December 2011 and they wed in April 2013.
Word of Jordan’s wife’s pregnancy first surfaced last November.
The six-time NBA champion and his first wife, Juanita, divorced in 2006 after 17 years. They have three grown children in Jeffrey (25), Marcus (23) and Jasmine (21).
Michael Jordan retired from basketball in 1993, 1998 and finally for good 2003, becoming majority owner of the struggling Charlotte Bobcats in 2010.
The athlete, 50, has relocated to Florida with Yvette, 35, when he’s not running the team. The couple wed at his lavish estate in the Sunshine State.
Congratulations to the family on their adorable new arrivals!
