How do you blow through a staggering $10 million in a few years’ time? The Hills stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag can tell you from experience!
"We were immature," Pratt says. "Every time we’d go out, we’d order $4,000 bottles of wine. Heidi was going to the mall and dropping $20,000, $30,000 a day."
"We thought we were Jay Z and Beyonce."
The couple is telling all, ironically, because they’re broke and going back to TV to recoup. Their E! special After Shock: Heidi & Spencer, premieres Monday.
Heidi Montag, 27, remembers The Hills as "a great experience" but notes that it "took a toll on my soul. I’m thankful not to have fake fights anymore!"
"I didn’t realize people would only know me as that character," Spencer Pratt says of the show. "It was just a persona I played up to make a paycheck."
Since the fighting has ended, will they be invited to Lauren Conrad’s wedding?
"I’ve talked to Lauren a few times on the phone since The Hills," Montag says.
"She was really sweet, but I don’t think so. It’s unfortunate things happened the way that it did, but we’re both different people now, older and more mature."
"I’ll always have such great memories about her and, you know, without her I wouldn’t have any of the world that I have today or my husband."
Last month, Montag, famous for getting 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, showed off smaller breasts, acquired after undergoing more surgery.
With the boobs, she went from mega-huge to just huge.
Montag and Pratt are no longer pining for their Hills days, or all the surgery, hilarious bad music "career" or days of living large that they provided.
The free food was great, though.
"I miss always going to a restaurant and ordering up as much as I want and [MTV is] paying for it," Pratt said. "The free meals were a lot of fun because I like to eat a lot."
