It has been confirmed by TNT and by the actor’s publicist:

Lee Thompson Young took his own life today at the age of 29.

The rising television star, who had helped anchor Rizzoli & Isles for the past three years, got his start in 1998 on The Famous Jett Jackson and also appeared on episodes of such hits as Smallville and Scrubs.
