Murray’s girlfriend, Kim Sears, perennially steals the show at Wimbledon and all of his major events. Here’s a brief breakdown on the British beauty:
Sears has been with Murray for awhile. The tennis great first brought her to one of his tournaments back in 2006 when they were both just 18 years old.
According to The Telegraph, Murray won his first title as a professional in San Jose, Calif., that same year, and celebrated in the stands with Kim.
She is the daughter of Nigel Sears, an English tennis coach, and it is widely believed that she met Murray via tennis connections in their native Britain.
“It’s the first time Kim has come to a tournament,” he said of that San Jose win. “That made me quite relaxed. I’ll have to take her to some more.”
He has certainly done that. She’s been a fixture in Murray’s corner for seven years!
Kim Sears, 25, doesn’t have an official occupation, although the former student has been described as a painter, actress and artist by the UK media.
Not that she needs an official job if she officially becomes Mrs. Murray. Andy won $2.4 million just by defeating Novak Djokovic on Centre Court yesterday.
The rumor going around was that he would propose to Sears if he won Wimbledon – a UK betting site even offered 66/1 odds on him doing so at the event.
It doesn’t look like that happened, but Murray and Sears are quite happy together, and you can still place some late bets on Kate Middleton‘s baby name.
