Fresh off hearing boos from the Billboard Music Awards crowd, Justin Bieber is now hearing it from a rock legend.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Jon Bon Jovi went off a bit on Bieber for his unprofessional behavior in March when he showed up hours late for a concert at O2 Arena.

“Every generation has guys that do that, none of that is new,” Bon Jovi told the newspaper during a tour stop in Vienna. “They run the risk of disrespecting their audience members who have worked hard to pay for their ticket.”

The singer understands that issues arise sometimes (“Do it once, you can be forgiven,” he said) – but he still sent an overall message to Bieber and, really, all young artists out there:

“Do it enough times and shame on you. They won’t have you back. Then it just becomes a cliché. It’s really not cool – you’re an a–hole. Go to f–kin’ work!”

Hear that, Justin? Sound advice from someone who’s been there.

Keep your chin up, though. At least Chris Brown is still in your corner.
