The health condition of former United States President George H.W. Bush appears to be deteriorating, as the 88-year-old has been in intensive care since Sunday.
Bush’s camp says it is “cautiously optimistic” for his recovery, but clearly things haven’t improved since Bush was hospitalized in November due to bronchitis.
Jim McGrath, Bush’s spokesman in Houston, Texas, said in a brief email that Bush was admitted to the ICU at the city’s Methodist Hospital on Sunday.
Bush has been visited by daughter Dorothy and sons Neil, Jeb and George W.
The 41st Commander-in-Chief’s fever has gone up in the last few days, and doctors have been unable to control it. Few other details are available at this time.
Here’s hoping for the best for H.W. and family.
