Dr. Conrad Murray, who will be tried for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson this spring, is no stranger to accusations of shoddy care.
According to TMZ, investigators spoke with the son of a former Murray patient who blames the physician for killing his dad in a botched surgery in 2007.
After the death of Michael Jackson, LAPD detectives talked to Gerard White, whose father passed away six days after Dr. Murray operated on his heart.
White says Murray not only botched the surgery and ripped a hole in his dad’s heart, but failed to recognize obvious signs that his patient was fatally wounded.
It is worth noting that Dr. Conrad Murray was never charged or sued.
Gerard told investigators he and his family contacted lawyers to go after Murray, but couldn’t find an attorney who would, as there was little money to be made.
Gerard did say Murray did “exactly what he’s doing in the Jackson case” – he never even attempted to speak with his family members about the situation at all.
Murray’s rep calls the claim “totally unsubstantiated,” adding “Murray has medical insurance for lawsuits” and if the claim had merit, he’d have pursued it.
