Newly divorced from Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren is reportedly considering opening a mental health clinic to assist underprivileged families in Florida.
According to a report in the Sunday Times of London, the former Swedish model is planning to use some of her mammoth settlement on the project.
Elin Nordegren: Mother, model, humanitarian?
“Elin has a lot of ideas, including setting up her own clinic to help out poorer children suffering from mental illnesses like depression, eating disorders and hypertension, which can result from living in a broken family,” a source said.
Of the scorned mother of two, the source said, “Maybe it’s not surprising, but she feels strongly that children are the real victims when marriages fail.”Elin Nordegren recently said she’s feeling “stronger” than ever now she’s single: “I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children.”
“I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself. My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal.”
For his part, Tiger said he wishes her the best and didn't completely suck at golf last weekend, so it looks like he's moving on as well. Hopefully they can make the best of a difficult situation and move forward together as parents.
