Juan-Carlos Cruz may be simmering in jail pretty soon. You could say his goose is cooked. Or that the sentence he’ll be given will be served cold. Or other bad puns.
The former Food Network chef and host of Calorie Commando and Weighing In was officially charged with attempted murder and solicitation of murder Monday.
Slapped with the dual charges after allegedly soliciting two homeless men to murder his wife, Juan-Carlos Cruz is scheduled to be arraigned on both later today.
The 48-year-old was arrested on suspicion of the heinous offense Thursday and is currently in custody in lieu of posting $5 million bail (no way he has that).
RECIPE FOR DISASTER: Hiring homeless guys to kill your wife? Probably not included in this work of culinary genius. Although if it were, he recommends a nice Chianti.
Needless to say, he won’t be an ingredient in the TV station’s lineup again.
“Juan-Carlos Cruz has not been under contract or associated with Food Network for a number of years,” the network said in a statement. “The Food Network has no relationship with Cruz and therefore has no comment on the allegations.”
Well, other than the no comment comment. But point taken.
