That’s one way to bring us out of a recession.
Anna Kournikova rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange – and surely the bells of many balding, overweight traders – in New York City on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old former tennis star was there on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the community outreach program she’s been involved with since 2004.
“I’m proud to be associated with a group like Boys & Girls Clubs of America who recognizes this need and is proactively providing resources to make this happen.”
Wow, actually using her high-profile status to promote a good cause, rather than becoming a complete drain on society? So basically, Anna is the anti-Octomom.
Can Anna Kournikova stimulate a big day for the stock market?
As of this posting, the bellwether NYSE composite index, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, is about even on the day, so it looks like the recession is still on.
Oh well, at least we got some Anna Kournikova pics out of it.
