Being married to a beautful, talented actress isn’t enough to keep an addict off drugs or alcohol.

Such is the reality for country singer Keith Urban, who checked into a rehab center Thursday night. He was accompanied by his wife, Nicole Kidman.

“I deeply regret the hurt this has caused Nicole and the ones that love and support me,” Urban said in a statement. “One can never let one’s guard down on recovery and I’m afraid that I have.

“With the strength and unwavering support I am blessed to have from my wife, family and friends, I am determined and resolved to a positive outcome.”

Urban is just the latest celebrity to seek this sort of assistance. Mel Gibson’s struggles with alcohol have been well-documented and comedian Robin Williams also sought rehab recently.

The statement added that all of Urban’s immediate appearances promoting his forthcoming CD will be postponed.

Urban and Kidman were married on June 28 in Sydney, Australia, after meeting in January 2005. They’ve been affectionately dubbed “Kurban” by, well, us.
