She’s been taking such a beating in the press, even crushing the extremities of a member of the paparazzi with an SUV can’t get her breathing room.

But Britney Spears nevertheless decided to set the record straight, or at least sit down with Matt Lauer on the Today Show and talk about stuff. In an interview from her home, which is set to air Thursday on both Today and Dateline, she opens up about motherhood, marriage and Manny.

Here are some highlights:

On K-Fed:

“He helps me. He has to. I’m [an] emotional wreck right now.”

On the public ridiculing and/or rooting against her marriage:

“If they are, that’s sad. I think everybody should be pro-love.”

On the driving incident with Sean P. on her lap:

“I can’t go anywhere without someone judging me… I did it with my dad. I’d sit on his lap and I drive. We’re country… I know I’m a good mom.”

On the paparazzi:

“They’ve crossed the line a little bit… They like to have the person they pick on, I feel like I’m a target.”

Britney made a plea to the photo hounds at the end of her interview, saying “You have babies at home, and… you have a life. And, if you don’t, you have to realize that we’re people and that we… just need privacy and we need respect. Those are things that you have to have as a human being.”

Well spoken, sweetheart. The 24-year old mom, who’s pregnant once again, could use a little space. Those intrusive low-life bastards with nothing better to show for their pathetic existences need to back the hell off. Otherwise, the Gossip wouldn’t be opposed to another SUV “accident.” You know what we’re talking about.
