Perhaps you've heard, but Kim Kardashian married Kanye West this weekend.

No, really! Those kids just up and decided to get married with no fanfare at all.

We kid... a lot. But while we await word on just how much Kim and Kanye spent to tie the knot in Florence (we know how much they earned, approximately: $20 million), let's take a look at some of the most expensive wedding bills in celebrity history.

From athletes to singers to members of British Royalty, brides and grooms from a number of industries have often spared no expense in pledging their love and loyalty to their spouse for eternity.

Or, you know, for 72 days...

Prince William and Kate Middleton
In fairness, $32 million of the $34 million tab went to security. The rest of the money was spent on flowers ($800,000) food ($150,000) and champagne ($60,000), among other details.

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell got married today in London.

The Beatles legend, 69, and New York businesswoman, 51, have been dating since 2007, after he divorced Heather Mills. They announced their engagement in May.

The couple were greeted with jubilation as they arrived at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, which was opened especially for the event. Here's a photo of the newlyweds:

Shevell wore a flower in her hair and long-sleeved, v-neck, knee-length ivory dress and shoes by her new stepdaughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney.

Stella, whose mother is the late Linda McCartney, Paul's wife of 29 years until her 1998 death, also made her dad's navy blue suit for the occasion.

McCartney's daughter with Mills, seven-year-old Beatrice, served as the flower girl. Shevell's college-age son, Arlen, was also in attendance at the affair.

Famous guests included Barbara Walters (a cousin of Nancy Shevell, interestingly), Paul's brother Mike, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison's widow, Olivia.

McCartney and Shevell waved to guests as they left the Town Hall amid a shower of rose petals tossed by guests. For all involved, it was a day to savor.

"It was terrific – thank you!" McCartney told the crowd, joking with fans that he felt "married" and asking reporters in jest, "What are you all doing here?"

Paul McCartney will wed fiancée Nancy Shevell at the same venue he married late wife Linda - Old Marylebone Town Hall, in London - it was revealed Friday.

The pair have posted a notice that they intend to get married there.

Earlier this week, the couple met with Superintendent Registrar Alison Cathcart, and the official notice - sometimes called banns - was made on Wednesday.

The actual wedding date has not been announced, but they may tie the knot as early as September 30, and there has been speculation they will wed in October.

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell have been together since mid-2007.

The Beatles legend was married to the former Linda Eastman from 1969 until her death in 1998, then to Heather Mills in 2002 until their separation in 2006.

He went through financial Hell with Heather Mills, but Paul McCartney is ready to start fresh with Nancy Shevell.

Therefore, despite forking over $50 million to his ex-wife in a nasty, drawn-out divorce settlement, the iconic singer has made it clear to his loved ones: there will be no pre-nuptial agreement with new fiancee Nancy Shevell.

"His friends and business advisers think he's crazy after what happened with his ex, but Paul is insisting Nancy is no Heather," a source tells PopEater. "There's no need to make marriage a business arrangement."

Shevell has quite a lot of money on her own, and she's been dating McCartney for four years. Even insiders that think the pair should sign some kind of document agree they make a "perfect couple."

"This one will last forever," a family friend says. "She is the opposite of Heather and hates the public spotlight, plus she doesn't need his money to live a great life."

Hey, McCartney and The Beatles said it themselves: all you need is love.

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell, his girlfriend of four years, are engaged!

"Nancy and Paul are getting married," a source close to Shevell, 51, a New York City businesswoman, tells People today. "Ring and all – very exciting."

Tamera Mowry, Adam Housley

The Beatles legend, 68, started dating Shevell in the Hamptons in summer 2007, and sources say they've been the "perfect pair" from the start.

"They have the chemistry," the source said. "They're both cool, chill and optimistic."

This will be McCartney's third marriage: He was married Linda McCartney from 1969 until her death in 1998, and then wed Heather Mills in 2002.

While his marriage with Mills ended in a really ugly divorce in 2008, McCartney didn't seem hesitant to give love another shot with Nancy Shevell.

"I just like being in love, and I am," he said of his current partner.

His fiancée quickly won over Paul's kids Heather, 48, Mary, 41, Stella, 39, James, 33, and Beatrice, 7. Congratulations to the soon-to-be newlyweds!

We've never met or spoken to Nancy Shevell.

Still, the steady girlfriend of music legend Paul McCartney is one of our favorite celebrities. How come?

Because she isn't Heather Mills!

Shevell and McCartney have been dating since November 2007, as she appears to be everything Mills is not (i.e. sane).

The couple was recently spotted having dinner together in Paris. Sorry for intruding on the date, Nancy and Paul, but you guys just seem to happy together...

Now, Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell.

Celebrity gossip tabloids simply cannot get their engagement stories correct, as Great Britain's The Mirror reported this week that McCartney and Shevell were set to tie the knot.

“Nancy and Sir Paul are totally natural together and feel blessed to have found happiness,” a source told the newspaper, adding that gold digging was not a concern with Shevell, as it was with McCartney's repulsive ex-wife, Heather Mills:

“Unlike Heather, [Nancy Shevell] is a multimillionaire in her own right and therefore could never be portrayed as being interested in Sir Paul for his money. She is calm, measured, and mature, whereas Heather is fiery and impulsive."

And the anti-Christ, according to other reputable insiders.

McCartney's publicist, Paul Freundlich, has shot down any engagement rumors, however, stating: "[There's] no truth to [them.]"

Paul McCartney is finally speaking out about new love, Nancy Shevell. But just a tiny bit.

"I just like being in love," the singer told the U.K.'s Sunday Times.

Meanwhile, Shevell -  an American businesswoman, who appears to be the antithesis to Heather Mills - says she isn't stressed by her boyfriend's iconic status.

"I'm a cancer survivor, I run a trucking company and I've got a 16-year-old to raise," Shevell said "That's stress."

Nancy Shevell is the opposite of Paul McCartney's ex-wife, Heather Mills. In other words, she has a soul.

Suck on this, Heather Mills!

Paul McCartney has asked his new, better girlfriend, Nancy Shevell, to move in with him at the East Sussex home he bought as wedding gift for first wife Linda in 1969.

While the couple isn't engaged yet, a source told Great Britain's The Sun that life could not be better for the singer and his love.

“Paul and Nancy are as solid a couple as you can get after just a short time together," the source said about the couple, which has been dating for five months. "It made sense to him just to ask her to move in. She’ll still travel between here and America, but is setting up home with Paul."

After spending years with Heather Mills, Paul McCartney is used to watching his back.

It also helps, this friend added, that Shevell is well-liked by Paul's young daughter.

“He asked Beatrice if she liked Nancy and got a resounding ‘Yes’, which meant the world to him.”

Be on the lookout, Nancy Shevell. A wooden leg might be flying in your direction any day now.

A friend of Heather Mills has told Great Britain's The Daily Mirror that the world's best known, one-legged digger of gold is far from pleased about Shevell's relationship with Paul McCartney.

Paul and Nancy

"Heather's threatening to call and explain the dangers of dating a Beatle," the friend said, claiming Mills thinks she'd be doing this for Nancy's own good. "She had hell with the public hating her and reckons Nancy could too. Heather genuinely thinks she's doing Nancy a good turn."

Beware, Nancy Shevell. Heather Mills is on the prowl.

Moreover, this close, loyal pal of Mills says the former Dancing with the Stars contestant went nuts after hearing about Shevell and McCartney's recent vacation.

"She went ballistic when she found out. She's also terrified they're planning a baby - even though Nancy's not far off 50 - and thinks another child will detract from Beatrice."

The altruism of Mills never ceases to impress us. It's obvious she's just worried about Nancy and daughter Beatrice in this situation. What a terrible, no good, selfish, greedy, media-obsessed whore of a woman.
