The X Factor may have crowned Melanie Amaro as its first champion, but that talented singer isn't the only contestant to benefit from her time on the show.

Sources confirm that Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene and Astro will all sign recording contracts with Sony Music, encouraging news for the second, third and seventh place finishers, respectively.

Krajcik, of course, quickly became a fan favorite after viewers both heard his soulful voice and learned he had been working at a fast food Mexican restaurant.

Rene, meanwhile, earned a large fan base due to his dancing and energy on stage, while Astro - real name: Brian Bradley - was the most controversial crooner on the show, a rapping savant with a cocky attitude that turned off many viewers.

We wish all the very best of luck!

There may be one thing Josh Krajcik does better than sing: accept defeat.

The X Factor runner-up may have lost to Melanie Amaro last Thursday night, but you'd hardly know it based on the way Krajcik greeted reporters after the show. He was giddy and gracious.

Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik

"It's been an amazing process to be a part of, I've met so many incredible people," Josh said. "I feel like the future's bright and everything I've done in my life has led to tonight. It's a turning point in my life and now it starts. Now I'm ready to get to work."

It all boiled down to talent (Melanie Amaro) versus heart (Josh Krajcik) versus energy (Chris Rene) on the first-ever American finale of The X Factor, with a major recording contract, $5 million and serious bragging rights at stake tonight.

So, who took home the largest grand prize in reality show history?

Following an electrifying set of performances by Justin Bieber, 50 Cent, Leona Lewis, Pitbull and Ne-Yo, host Steve Jones announced the winner as ...

The X Factor Winner

... Melanie Amaro!

Obviously stunned and emotionally overwhelmed just after Jones made the expected announcement, a choked up Amaro said only "GOD IS GOOD!!"

And half a million thank yous.

Simon Cowell said simply, "We came here to find a superstar, and we found a superstar ... congratulations and thank you to all who supported this show."

Chris Rene got the chop first, leaving Melanie and Josh Krajcik in the final two. Before the results were unveiled, the two dueted on David Bowie's "Heroes."

The first season finale then closed out with a performance by Melanie. She sang "Listen," a perfect choice as it was arguably her strongest effort all season.

What do you think? Did Melanie Amaro deserve to win?

Josh Krajcik does not have the same vocal chops as Melanie Amaro. We can all agree on that.

But this X Factor finalist relies on heart and soul, both of which were on full display during last night's final performance show.

First, Krajcik sang a duet on "Uninvited" with Alanis Morissette herself. Then, to quote Paula Abdul, Josh owned the stage while belting out a version of the track "At Last" via guitar. L.A. Reid referred to him as a "rock star" and the crowed went crazy.

But was enough to propel Krajcik to victory? Watch both performances now.

It's down to three on The X Factor. Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene will sing for the title on tonight's final performance show.

So, who does Simon Cowell favor? It scarcely matters, he tells Us Weekly. Any one of the singers would make worthy champion.

The X Factor Final 3

"It will be the greatest final we've ever been in, in terms of talent," Cowell says. "The fact that all three of them are undiscovered before this show, amazing artists, amazing vocalists. One of these artists will be the legacy of this year.  This is $5 million dollar talent.  We are going to put on a show and it will be better next year."

While tonight should be exciting, tomorrow evening will really be the one to watch. Justin Bieber, Pitbull and Ne-Yo will all sing "superstar duets" with the show's finalists.

Which of the finalists do you think will win?

Marcus Canty, as most people predicted, was the victim on last night's X Factor results show, leaving Melanie Amaro, Josh Krajcik and Chris Rene to vie for the title.

Canty had been in bottom two four weeks in a row, and last week’s publicly unpopular elimination brought a lot of pressure - too much for him to last another week.

“The pressure is off," he said in an exit interview after last night. "I don’t have to sing no more save me’s. I don’t got to worry about America shooting me down."

"I ain’t got to worry about Simon giving me heat. I can just relax.”

The pressure may be off Canty, but for Amaro, Krajcik and Rene, it's just beginning.

Next week's finale means the culmination of their journey, but only one will be crowned champion. Canty played coy when reporters asked him who he thought would win.

“I think Chris [Rene] can do Chris, Melanie [Amaro] does Melanie, and Josh [Krajcik] … who knows who is going to win, man? I’m enjoying myself. It’s a beautiful day.”

Thanks for the input, Marcus. What do you think? Vote in our poll below!

Josh Krajcik brought Paula Abdul to tears on The X Factor last night. Granted, this is about as difficult as getting Lindsay Lohan to have a drink. But still.

The heartfelt crooner belted out a couple of songs on the semifinals, once again proving his versatility via a piano-based version of "Hallelujah" and a livelier version of "Come Together."

The former prompted Abdul to tell Josh he "attacks our souls," while the latter caused Nicole Scherzinger to compare the contestant to a "beautiful prayer." It's safe to say they're big fans. Are you? Watch Krajcik in double action now.

Adele was all over The X Factor last night.

First, Melanie Amaro sped up the Grammy winner's "Someone Like You," turning the ballad into a dance track. Elsewhere, Josh Krajcik belted out a version of "Something" and was told by Nicole Scherzinger that he's akin to a "male Adele."

High praise? Absolutely. Deserved praise? You tell us. Watch both of Krajcik's performances from this week below, first the aforementioned "Something" and then his cover of "We Found Love." Which did you like better?

Josh Krajcik performed "Dirty Diana" on The X Factor last night. At least we think he did. With all the staging and sound mixing and choreography, it was legitimately difficult to hear the singer throughout this rendition.

Which is too bad because we adore Josh. Remember last week's cover of "Wild Horses?" Great stuff.

"That was the first time I’ve seen you step out of your comfort zone. But you landed on your feet," LA Reid told the only over-30 crooner remaining in the competition.

Move over, Susan Boyle. We have a new favorite cover of "Wild Horses."

On last night's two-hour edition of The X Factor, Josh Krajcik delivered his best audition yet, showcasing his versatility with a restrained, piano-based version of this classic single. It was a 180 from last week's rock 'n roll performance and made it clear that Melanie Amaro won't simply waltz to this year's title.

"You have the right amount of everything," L.A. Reid said, while Simon Cowell simply praised Josh for having a "great voice" and Nicole Scherzinger? She cried.
