If anybody wants to know why Jenny McCarthy is posing for Playboy at the age of 39, nearly two decades after she first did, her response is twofold, and simple:

1. To promote autism research, and 2. Why not?

TV's Love in the Wild host took to Twitter this week and said, "Why should only 20 yr olds be considered sexy?" she writes. "Let's (hear) it for the MILFs."

Somehow we imagine guys can buy into that.

In a poll, fans have responded by a two-to-one margin that McCarthy has only gotten better with age from when she first appeared in Playboy in 1993.

Interestingly, two years ago, McCarthy told Playboy in an interview (above) that she could be persuaded to pose again, but the mag couldn't afford it.

Maybe the price went down? Or Hef dug deeper?

Who knows. Also interestingly, Jenny said at age 37 that wasn't sure if she'd still "have it" in a few years. Guess it's safe to say she still does.

It feels like 1993 all over again.

Jenny McCarthy will pose nude for Playboy's July/August issue, marking a surprise return from one of Hugh Hefner's most famous Playmates of the Year.

After almost 20 years, the soon-to-be 40-year-old model, actress and mom is returning to show off her goods on the cover of the men's mag June 29.

Jenny first posed for Playboy in 1993 for a modest $20,000, earning herself the title of Playmate of the Month and a bit later on, Playmate of the Year.

She confirmed her return to the magazine with a bit of irony.

McCarthy told E! this week, "All I wanted to do [when she began in the industry] was work with my clothes on, and now I just hope to get them off!"

That network will soon launch The Jenny McCarthy Show, a platform on which this gorgeous blonde will conduct interviews, give her take on pop culture, dish on current events look all around beautiful. Look for it to debut in the late summer or early fall.

“We wanted to get back in the game and create a signature show that really hit that female funny sweet spot, and Jenny was always on the top of our list because our audience grew up with Jenny,” says Jeff Olde, VH1′s Executive Vice President of original programming and production. “We just kept stalking her until she was free."

McCarthy got her big break in the 1990s on MTV's dating show Singled Out. She has since posed naked for Playboy and dated Jim Carrey.

It was a blind date that led to a relationship, and has now resulted in a break-up.

Sources confirm to Life & Style that Jenny McCarthy has called it quits with sports agent Paul Krepelka, as the "long-distance thing proved too much for them."

"He didn't want to move to LA, and she certainly can't move to Boston," a source says "They're still friends; they just couldn't make it work."

McCarthy ended a five-year relationship with Jim Carrey in April 2010. As part of her New Year's Rockin Eve co-hosting duties, she was then seen kissing Krepelka at midnight on January 1,

But Jenny is now single, joining the newly-separated Olivia Wilde on the open market. They might be the most sought after free agents since Cliff Lee.

When Jenny McCarthy, who co-hosted ABC's Rockin New Year's Eve, kissed a man next to her in Times Square at midnight, some viewers thought a total stranger had received the shock of a lifetime.

But Paul Krepelka knew better. He had been dating Jim Carrey's ex for about four weeks at the time.

During an appearance on Ellen that will air today, McCarthy opened up about her new boyfriend.

"He was my 5th blind date," Jenny said. "I told everyone I know, 'Please, I can't pick them. As a friend, find me a man.' So the first blind dates were these really bizarre dudes that were like, 'Do you know Sharon Stone?' And I'm sitting on a date going, 'Well, I know of her. I've seen her in movies.' 'Well, you think you can get an autograph?' I'm like, 'Oh my god.'"

Krepelka is a sports agent who resides in Boston, meaning he and McCarthy have to make like Up in the Air and meet in both cities to "make it work," she says.

Has her six-year old son met Paul yet? No.

"Evan is on the strictest VIP meet and greet, which is like 6 months," McCarthy says. "I don't have guys meeting him on a cycle. That boy is very important to me."

Jenny McCarthy is a single lady again after the mom of one and her Las Vegas-based boyfriend Jason Toohey have split up after four months of dating.

"It's true," McCarthy's rep tells E! News.

A 35-year-old Las Vegas resident and former fitness model, Jason has been quietly dating McCarthy for two months - and they're living together already!

"I've been living in Vegas for about a month. My house is under construction right now in L.A., so I very well could be here until it's done," McCarthy said.

After her April breakup with Jim Carrey, McCarthy says she is focusing on "Change and growth ... But I feel really good, I'm looking forward to the future."
