Philadelphia news anchor Larry Mendte was fired by CBS amid an FBI probe into allegations he hacked into the computer of his former co-anchor.

That being The Hollywood Gossip's favorite news mess, Alycia Lane!

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Larry Mendte accessed Lane's computer and proceeded to leak embarrassing stories about her to Page Six.

As a result, KYW-TV booted Mendte a few days after Alycia Lane, who was canned earlier this year, filed a lawsuit against the station over his actions.

Alycia Lane keeps popping up in the tabloids ... sometimes she even makes the cover! But this time wasn't really her fault - Larry Mendte was just stalking her.

Lane claimed that keeping Larry Mendte on the payroll at the TV station amounted to discrimination. Mendte's lawyer, Michael Schwartz, said the newsman is cooperating with the FBI and expects to resume his career.

Don't hold your breath, Larry.

Alycia Lane, who was fired after a tirade against a New York City cop, who she called a dyke b!tch, first raised eyebrows when she sent some bikini pics of herself to a "platonic friend" named Rich Eisen (yes, the Rich Eisen of ESPN fame) ... only to have his wife, Suzy Shuster, find them and freak out. Natch.

Looks like The Hollywood Gossip's favorite insane news vixen, Alycia Lane, is back in the news and yes, it's another legal matter.

Apparently, Philly newscaster Larry Mendte is currently the subject of a federal investigation for allegedly reading Alycia Lane's emails.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Larry Mendte's computer was seized from his home last week in an investigation - one not promoted by Lane.

The story also reports that Larry showed up for work Friday, but was not on the air.

For her part, Lane was axed from their news station in January after she was arrested for assaulting a cop and calling her a "dyke b!tch."

Alycia Lane first came to our attention as the other woman Rich Eisen had bikini pics of in his email. His wife, Suzy Shuster, was far from pleased.

Embattled TV news psycho / reporter Alycia Lane got off with just a day of community service for an alleged police smackdown back in December.

Lane was in court this morning, where the Manhattan DA took the felony charge of assault down to a minor charge of obstruction and harassment.

Alycia Lane then pleaded not guilty to those charges.

According to the DA, scratches Lane made on the NYPD officer in question - when she also allegedly called the cop "a f*$king dyke bitch" - didn't quite qualify under the legal definitions of physical injury.

"I'm so glad this is over," Lane said.

Alycia Lane's rampage, as documented by the venerable New York Post.

She didn't comment on whether she plans on refocusing efforts on her former hobbies, like sending racy bikini photos of herself to Rich Eisen.

If Alycia Lane stays arrest-free for six months - the odds of which are currently 3:2 against - the case will be dismissed and sealed.

At least she won't have an assault charge on her record when she's firing out resumes. Lane got fired from her news anchor job after the incident.

Philadelphia news reporter and anchor, Alycia Lane, has apparently broken one too many news stories. Involving herself, that is.

Lane, who was arrested in New York in November after allegedly slapping a female cop and calling her a "f*%king dyke b!tch" in a traffic spat, got the boot from Philly's CBS 3 yesterday afternoon, reports the station.

In a statement on the matter, CBS 3 President and GM Michael Colleran said, "We have concluded that it would be impossible for Alycia to continue to report the news as she, herself, has become the focus of so many news stories."

Alycia Lane gained notoriety last year for sending bikini photos of herself to NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen - except his wife, Suzy Shuster, found them in e-mail first. Whoops!

This before Alycia Lane and boyfriend Chris Booker slapped a cop and made gay slurs. That was apparently quite enough for her employer. Lane's Attorney, Paul Rosen issued the following statement on her behalf:

We have learned today that KYW-TV (Channel 3) has unilaterally terminated Alycia Lane's employment. The conduct of KYW-TV is contrary to the terms of her Employment Contract which has many additional years remaining. The termination comes at a time when there has been absolutely no determination that Alycia is guilty of any wrongful conduct, and after KYW-TV has aired her categorical denial of the alleged charge that is pending against her.

The termination is unfair because Alycia Lane has never had an opportunity to defend against this charge, and tell her side of the story publicly, before KYW-TV has taken this unusual and unwarranted step to terminate her employment. Obviously, on the advice of counsel, Alycia cannot talk about these matters because of the matter that is pending in New York.

Yes, that Alycia Lane.

The Philadelphia news anchor who infamously sent racy bikini pics of herself to married sports anchor Rich Eisen is back in the news - after getting arrested for allegedly slugging a female cop and calling her a "dyke bitch."

According to the New York Post, Alycia Lane, an anchor for Philadelphia's KYW-TV, was in a cab on Ninth Avenue in New York yesterday when she got stuck behind an unmarked police car.

That's when $h!t went down.

Alycia Lane and her boyfriend, radio host Chris Booker, were stuck behind a slow-moving, unmarked police car in Chelsea.

When the unmarked car stopped at a red light at Ninth Avenue and 17th, Chris Booker, 36, went over to the unmarked vehicle to find out what was causing the delay.

When apparently told the occupants were officers looking for a perp, he yelled, "I don't care if you're a cop! Drive faster!" the sources said.

The three officers inside, two men and a woman, got out to question Booker, now a deejay with Q102 in Philadelphia, the sources said.

The petite, twice-divorced Lane, 35, got out of the cab and began snapping photos, getting in the face of the male officer doing most of the grilling.

The female cop then told the feisty anchor, "You can take pictures, but you have to step back," the sources said.

Going ballistic, Alycia Lane shouted that she was a reporter and declaring, "I don't care that you're a cop - you dyke bitch!" the sources said.

Then Alycia Lane allegedly walloped the officer in the face
.

Lane was taken to the 10th Precinct station and charged with assaulting an officer. The cop was treated at a hospital and released.

Later, her red-rimmed eyes a sharp contrast to her sleek, black jacket and pants, Lane was released without bail and shared a hug with Booker.

Lane's lawyer, David Smith, said she "absolutely never hit or made any derogatory comments to anyone... She was accosted by several individuals wearing plainclothes who violently grabbed her camera to prevent her from taking pictures of the altercation they were involved in."

A Long Island, N.Y., native, Alycia Lane is a former reporter and anchor for the cable station News 12 in The Bronx, and covered the 1999 shooting of Amadou Diallo, the unarmed immigrant killed by 40 police bullets.

As the New York Post reported last May, Alycia Lane apparently e-mailed bikini photos of herself to NFL Network and ESPN anchorman Rich Eisen.

The pics were discovered by his wife, Suzy Shuster.

A seething Shuster fired off a letter to Lane, saying, "Boy do you look amazing in a bikini ... congrats! Whatever you're doing (Pilates? yoga?) keep it up."

Snap. To make matters worse, Suzy Shuster forwarded Lane Rich Eisen's personal email address, "since you surely are trying so hard to get attention."

The TV reporter who sent NFL Network anchor Rich Eisen revealing photos of herself in a bikini - and got an hilarious, bitter e-mail response from Eisen's wife (who found them on their shared account) - says the pics are "harmless pictures" that "friends" swap.

Alycia Lane, an anchor at Philadelphia's CBS affiliate KYW-TV, just sent a statement to TMZ saying that she and Rich Eisen have been "purely platonic" friends "for almost 10 years" and that they "regularly exchange e-mail and photos."

THG NOTE: Chances are, they're not quite like Katie Rees photos. But they do feature Alycia Lane in bikini, apparently.

The New York Post reports that they exchanged "seven e-mails and several bikini photos" from Lane, which went into the account shared by the ESPN anchor and wife Suzy Shuster.

Nice. Suzy Shuster, in a letter obtained by the Post, hissed back at Lane:

"Boy, do you look amazing in a bikini ... congrats! Whatever you're doing, (Pilates? yoga?) keep doing it - it's working for you ... sorry but those seven e-mails you sent to my husband, Rich, well, oops, they came to the e-mail address we both use from time to time."

Oh snap! And to make matters worse, Shuster forwarded Rich Eisen's personal email address, "since you surely are trying so hard to get attention."

KYW-TV says it won't be taking any punitive action against Lane. Calls to Eisen and Shuster weren't returned. ESPN's Sports Guy and Sports Gal have not commented yet, either.

Last week, we learned a valuable lesson, courtesy of Alec Baldwin: If you tear your pre-teen daughter a new one, don't do so in the form of an insane tirade on her voicemail, where it can be recirculated endlessly over the Internet.

Today's lesson is along somewhat similar lines. Moderately hot bikini pics are all well and good, but before sending them to your married friends, make sure their wives don't also access that e-mail address. Do your homework.
