The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Tamra Barney has done and about face and settled her ongoing, ugly custody dispute with ex-husband Simon.

She will be giving up primary control of her daughter as a result.

Simon Barney, will get sole physical custody of Sidney, 16. Tamra Barney (now Tamra Judge) will still have visitation with Sidney, but not a whole lot of it.

The reality star can see her “every other weekend, and one day mid-week from 4-7 p.m. every week, and any other additional times at Sidney’s discretion.”

On Facebook, Tamra said she ended the dispute with Simon out of respect for their daughter and in the hopes of moving forward amicably and productively:

“My family means everything to me and NO it is not perfect all the time. Sometimes you have to make the hardest decision in your life to make someone you love happy.”

“You have to put it in God’s hands and believe in your heart that they will understand what you went through and the sacrifices you made for their happiness.”

“Simon and I came to terms outside of court,” she added.

“Her happiness is what matters most. Sidney’s wish was to have her main residence at her dad’s. She is 16 and can chose where she wants to live.”

In the end, “We both want what’s best for our daughter.”

Tamra, who has two other children with Simon that they still split custody of 50/50, said, “There was no loss in court for me, the judge threw out the original case.”

She and Simon Barney “are all in a good place and continue to work on family,” she insists, and while that sounds like wishful thinking, this is a good first step.

As for reports that the 47-year-old Tamra has been fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County, those have been greatly exaggerated … so far.

She’s such a loose cannon, anything could happen.
