Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show may be in Los Angeles this week, but, in reality, they are actually back in time. Specifically, the early ’90s.
First, the comedian parodied the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song on his way out to The Golden State from West Philadelphia.
Then, on Wednesday’s program, he actually reunited the cast of Saved by the Bell! In truly amazing fashion…
We’re talking Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack… Tiffani Thiessen as Kelly… Mario Lopez as Slater… Elizabeth Berkley as Jesse… and Dennis Haskins as Mr. Belding.
No, Dustin Diamond was not invited to reprise his role as Samuel "Screech" Powers, likely for a host of obvious sex tape and law-breaking reasons.
No Lark Voorhies either, for less obvious reasons.
With the fab four on board, the nostalgic segment poked fun at Berkley’s infamous role in Showgirls, along the chart-topping band Zack Attack.
It also came up with an alternate ending to the gang’s high school years, which featured Kelly Kapowski carrying Zack Morris’ child out of wedlock.
We told you it was amazing, didn’t we?
Back in 2009, Fallon got Gosselaar to act as Zack for an entire interview (giant cell phone included), but it had appeared his dreams of a cast reunion were dead.
Little did we know!
