Gisele Bundchen has again sparked debate and discussion over breastfeeding, this time by simply sitting there doing so in a white terry cloth robe.
While being made up and styled for a photo shoot, obviously.
The Brazilian beauty shared Tuesday this somewhat controversial photo of herself breastfeeding daughter Vivian as a beauty squad carried out its duties:
"What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours of sleep #multitasking #gettingready," Tom Brady's wife captioned the photo.
Nursing her one-year-old as she gets her nails, makeup and hair done by three different people, Gisele also translated the caption into her native Portuguese.
That's taking multitasking to a new level.
Back in August 2010, the former Victoria's Secret Angel caused a stir after the birth of her first child with her NFL quarterback husband, son Benjamin.
"I think breastfeeding really helped," she told Harper's Bazaar UK about getting back the figure that made her the world's highest paid supermodel.
"Some people here think they don't have to breastfeed, and I think, 'Are you going to give chemical food to your child, when they are so little?'"
"There should be a worldwide law, in my opinion," Bundchen added controversially, "that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months."
She made no such claim about the above picture. If anything, she should be given credit for acknowledging that it takes a team to do as she does.
It's also a lovely picture, and what we as a society should want for every mother, the ability to feed her child as best she can, and do work she loves.
So why are some people not thrilled with Gisele's picture?
Perhaps they think she's trying to make a grander point about what women can and should do, while not realizing most people don't have her staff.
Or perhaps it's not as much anti-Gisele, but broader envy.
Considering that maternity leave in the U.S. is largely seen as a joke and so few people could emulate this (models or not), it may well make people unhappy.
Should it be at Bundchen, though? Or society? Discuss ...
