The death of Cory Monteith will be addressed in the third episode of the coming season, Fox's Chairman of Entertainment Kevin Reilly said this afternoon.

"The third episode will write Finn out ... that episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with Cory's passing and the drug abuse in particular," he said.

He would not confirm rumors that Finn also dies of a drug overdose.

However, creator and executive producer "Ryan [Murphy] will shoot some PSA's with the cast, who will speak directly to the audience," he said.

Additionally, all the proceeds resulting from sales of the Glee music in that episode will go toward forming a foundation in Cory Monteith's memory.

Last month, Murphy addressed and mourned Monteith's passing.

"We will begin shooting in late August the two shows we had already written, so that people can physically go back to work," the show creator revealed.

"We will then do an episode that will deal with the death of Finn."

Following a long hiatus after that, "I don't know exactly when we will come back, and we are trying out best with this attempt at damage control."

Monteith died at the age of 31 from mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol, the British Columbia Coroners Service confirmed on July 16.

Glee Season 5 premieres September 26 on Fox.

KM0531: I think this has been going on for a while because it was a shock. With other celebrities, such as Amy Winehouse, everyone knew she was struggling with drugs, so, although she was a tragic loss to the music industry, it was less of a shock. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't even know Cory was on drugs - from what I know, this could even be the first time he took drugs (although I don't think that's likely as people don't die from one session of doing drugs... probably, anyway). Besides, it hasn't even been that long since he died! It would take a completely heartless psychopath to get over a death that quickly: no matter who it was. Cory was a great actor and I'm sure he will be missed by everyone. My thoughts go to his family, friends and Lea. - Taylor x

Know matter what Cory Monteith did far as doing drugs, he was a good actor and everybody loved him as a person and actor. we all love him and he will be missed, the hole world will miss him I know I will. for cory's mother I just want to say that I am every sorry for your lost.
God will always be with your son and you

Call me heartless, but am I really the only person who is tired of hearing about this? Seriously. He was a good guy, maybe even a generous nice guy -who was on a popular tv show. But c'mon. Really? He was also a drug addict -who was on a popular tv show.
I just don't get the weeks of dragging this out. There have been many others who have passed who have had a much larger, more positive impact on society, yet This is who the media has chosen to direct our focus upon? Talk about beating a dead horse. (no disrespect, but there is a pun in there somewhere).

@ KM0531

I get what you mean. But maybe it's just your perception of you think is going on right now. To me, it doesn't seem that too much coverage has been done on him from my perspective anyways, but I get what you mean and no, you're not insensitive. Just tired of the coverage.
