Courtney Louise Jarrell, a 22-year old teacher in Utah, has been accused of raping one of her 17-year old female students.
According to court documents, the alleged sexual encounters took place inside Jarrell's home in February and March of this year.
A math teacher, who had been working for eight months at Riverton High School, Jarrell also coached the sophomore girls' basketball team and was charged Friday with rape and forcible abuse.
She had been on administrative leave since the allegations arose a month ago and resigned late last week after the formal charges were announced.
Jarrell is due in court on May 16 and will plead not guilty, her attorney told KSL-TV.
