Are Amanda Knox’s legal woes still hampering her?
In 2011, the 25-year-old was released from an Italian prison after spending four years for allegedly murdering roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007.
The earlier guilty conviction was overturned in a court of appeals and both Knox and her Italian boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito were released.
Prosecutors want to re-instate their convictions, however.
Knox, now a student at the Univ. of Washington, will not be present for Monday’s hearing. If prosecutors are successful, Knox and Sollecito will face a re-trial.
If the Supreme Court upholds Knox and Sollecito’s acquittal, their legal battle is officially over. The Supreme Court is the third and final step in the process.
We'll soon know what her future holds, legally and finally.
