He may never, ever be getting back together with Taylor Swift.
But his status as a single man on Valentine's Day is the least of Conor Kennedy's this morning.
The 18-year old was arrested (along with 47 others) yesterday outside the White House. The reason? His protest of the proposed Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, which he believed would carry dirty oil into the country.
"The threat to our planet's climate is both grave and urgent," civil rights activist Julian Bond said in a statement. "Although President Obama has declared his own determination to act, much that is within his power to accomplish remains undone, and the decision to allow the construction of a pipeline to carry millions of barrels of the most-polluting oil on Earth from Canada's tar sands to the Gulf Coast of the U.S. is in his hands."
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Daryl Hannah were among those led away in handcuffs alongside Conor, with witnesses saying the crowd cheered upon seeing such famous faces.
