The already-intense NASCAR Sprint Cup race took an unexpected and violent turn this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway when a melee broke out in the put.
There was no love lost between Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer, who bumped cars several times ... and whose teams erupted into a fight. Watch the video below:
Following some unpleasant run-ins with Bowyer this year, Gordon appeared to get even with Bowyer by slowing down and purposefully clipping his rear fender.
That incident sent both cars careening into the wall, then sent the pit crews of the respective drivers into a frenzy as pushing, shoving and fisticuffs ensued.
Gordon was quickly ushered away from the fight, but the chaos continued unabated for some time; it's unclear what punishment(s) the perpetrators may face.
