Aretha Franklin Shows Interest in American Idol
by Hilton Hater at .Aretha Franklin has thrown her (often eccentric) hat into the American Idol judging ring.
With Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez both officially off the Fox competition, the iconic singer is the latest artist to make her interest in the panel known. CNN reports Franklin sent it an email expressing as much.
Rumors of who will take over on Season 12 will likely continue to circulate all summer long.
So far, big names such as Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have all been discussed.
Franklin, of course, would bring serious cred to the program. She's an 18-time Grammy Award winner and was named by Rolling Stone as the greatest female singer of all-time.

I WOULD STAY TUNE IF MARIAH IS A JUDGE. MY VOTE IS; MC-TIM M.-PRINCE.
Mariah,Reba and either Nick L. or Prince.
Balance it. One experienced diva (Aretha), one experienced industry executive, and one seat that rotates a current chart artist on a weekly basis. No to Adam Lambert. We need him out making albums.
