Davy Jones, Lead Singer of The Monkees, Dead at 66

Davy Jones, an icon in the 1960s as the lead singer of The Monkees, has passed away from a heart attack. He was 66.

Jones performed as recently as February 18 in New York City, as seen here:

 TMZ broke the news: Jones - who joined the beloved group in 1965 and sang such hits as "I'm a Believer" and "Daydream Believer - suffered the heart attack at his home in Florida this morning. He was transported to Martin Memorial Hospital soon afterward and pronounced dead at that facility.

The aritst is survived by his wife, Jessica, and four children from previous marriages. Our thoughts go out to his family.

    So sad to hear this. I've loved the Monkees since I was a kid growing up. Davy will be missed. RIP Davy.
