Dancing With The Stars Praised, Assailed For Chaz Bono Casting
The casting of Chaz Bono on Dancing With The Stars has sparked serious debate.
That watershed moment for the gay and lesbian community has been hailed by many, calling it a breakthrough and a triumph for diversity in America.
“Chaz Bono joining the cast of a series like Dancing With The Stars would be a tremendous step forward for the American public to recognize that transgender people are another wonderful part of the fabric of our culture,” said GLAAD.
However, the move has prompted backlash from critics as well.
A spokesperson for the Media Research Center, which “seeks to bring balance to the news media and prevent liberal bias from undermining traditional American values” says that Bono's addition to the DWTS Season 13 cast is taking things too far.
“Whether it’s Glee or Dancing With the Stars, this is Hollywood’s insistence on tearing down traditional families," said Dan Gainor, VP of Business & Culture.
"Parents now more than ever must realize they cannot let their kids watch TV without supervision or risk advocating lifestyles that most do not approve of."

I'm toltaly with you although I think we have different ideas about how to accomplish the same goal which is showing kids why it's important to have some self-respect and conduct themselves appropriately.

ABC can pretend to take the 'high road' by having Chaz Bono on dancing with the stars, but it was a freak show for ratings. Good dancers were thrown off while Cher's mutilated daughter jiggled all over the dance floor. I really feel sorry for her partner who could have gone much further in the competition. Chaz is a mutilated woman on hormones, that's all. Check the DNA. She has insured that her mother will never have grandchildren through her only daughter.

I have been reading these comments and I am going to put my 2 cents worth in. Now I am as far right wing as they get . But if Chaz wants to dance , let him dance. If you don't want to watch , don't watch !
If the girl dancing with Chaz has no problem with it, then we shouldn't . God judges the heart . If I don't forgive someone else, then I won't be forgiven. When Chaz was Chastity I thought she was pretty as a doll. Who knows why she didn't feel comfortable being a female. I am sure she had some dimwits coming up all the time wanting to know if she was going to be like her mama. Tough shoes to fill.
Normally I don't watch Dancing With the Stars. Maybe I will have to tune in to watch this season.

God alone is Chaz and my judge. The bible says there is no one with out sin. The bible also says judge not lest you be judged. I see Chaz as a fellow human being whose journey is unigue. I applaud DWTS for being open to anyone. To txgirl who stated she does not see Christians celebrities offered a spot on the show, I believe you are mistaken. I have to say a lot that has been said does feels like hate to me. Forgive my judging.

I won't be watching this season. I have no desire to watch this freak make an absolute fool of herself on Television. I do not want to explain lesbianism and cross dressing to my children. I feel all parents need to shield their children from the Alternate lifestyle agenda that is being forced upon Americans.

For all of you ill-informed ignoramuses, Chaz has legally had his gender changed. There is a difference between SEX and GENDER. Chaz is TRANSGENDERED, please stop calling him transsexual. And yes, he is a HE. Quit being a bunch of pricks and ridiculing him just because you're narrow-minded and think sheltering your children is the way to go. Newsflash, homosexuality, gender dysphoria, it's not a disease, you can't catch it like a cold or flu, so get over yourselves, seriously.
