Jerry Seinfeld Bails on Charity Event; Donald Trump Goes OFF on Comedian
by Free Britney at .Donald Trump is not a big fan of Jerry Seinfeld after the comedian reportedly pulled out from an event appearance for the Donald's son's charity.
Seinfeld was scheduled to attend a September 13 event for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Eric Trump Foundation, but he canceled.
According to reports, Jerry bailed based on Trump's remarks about President Obama, which didn't sit well with The Donald for a variety of reasons.
"I just learned you canceled a show for my son's charity," Donald Trump wrote to Seinfeld in an open letter, accusing him of backing out simply:
"Because of the fact that I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader."
Trump, who is considering a 2012 presidential run, didn't stop there.
"We don't care that you broke your commitment," he continued, "Even though the children of St. Jude are very disappointed, and despite the fact that your manager previously and clearly stated you are 'truly a man of his word.'"
Trump then took a shot at Seinfeld's NBC show, The Marriage Ref.
"What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, 'The Marriage Ref,' even though I thought it was absolutely terrible.""Despite its poor ratings, I didn't cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did."
A rep for Seinfeld said he agreed to appear at the event before Trump began questioning the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate. However, "Jerry has grown increasingly uncomfortable" with the Apprentice head honcho.
"Jerry ... feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse," said the rep. "He has respectfully withdrawn from the event, but is making a contribution both to the Eric Trump Foundation and to [St. Jude]."
Bret Micheals is slated to fill Seinfeld's place, the rocker said in a statement.
"Donald Trump and his family have been wonderful to me and St. Jude's Children's Hospital is one of my favorite charities, so I'm honored to have been asked by Eric and the rest of the Trump family to be a part of this event," he said.
"We should never allow the spirit of generosity to be overshadowed by divisive political beliefs," Bret added in a dig at Seinfeld, "and when it comes to saving the life of a child, there is absolutely no room for political rhetoric."

jeff, the children had been told that Seinfeld was coming. Them's the ones he bailed on, and I think that's the reason for some to dislike Seinfeld's actions. It smacks of politics. Who knows some of the kids might actually prefer to see Bret Michaels so I guess it might be just as well, but it doesn't erase the selfishness of what he did. The kids don't think about the money, you know, they just wanted to see Seinfeld. Otherwise I agree with what you're saying. I think the Donald is doing most of what he's doing for ratings and I hope to God he decides not to run.
Obama is the worst most dishonest man we have every put in the White House. Oprah got his elected, she wanted him to win so she supported him, and all of those sheep that watch her show followed right along, just like she knew they would. I don't know anything about his birth certificate but I will goole it as it has been suggested by someone one here, who can't just state his opinion he has to resort to the pre-school actions of name calling. That shows the intelligent level of Obama supporters. I didn't vote for Obama because I knew he would do a crappy job. And he has..... high gas prices, recession, real estate in the toliet..... we owe China so much money that if they called our note, we would all be speaking mandarin. Think about that!
Bret Michaels: Notes that Trump has more money then Seinfeld, proceeds to lick Trump's walnuts. Dean Berry & Mike: Do you guys have high school educations? You actually believe that somebody along the way of Barack Obama's political career path, through his presidential bid, that somebody actually forgot to do a background check? Seriously? That's the best you can do, is hang onto this schoolyard nonsense? Obviously you have a computer, why don't you actually Google the topic and discover what the rest of us have known for quite some time. One other tidbit: Trump, btw, is going for ratings; he doesn't actually give a damn whether Obama has a birth certificate or not. It's scary to know people like you guys are allowed to vote. The Dude and Sam: Why are you acting like Jerry didn't help these kids? He made a donation, for crissakes. I'd consider bailing on Trump too. I'd be afraid all that orange shite on his face might get all over my suit.
Trump is saying exactly what needs to be said. It's not inconsequential that Obama may not be an American citizen, THEREFORE CANNOT BE PRESIDENT! The U.S. Constitution is the CONTRACT Americans are born into. If you don't like it, GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY. Trumped has trumped all of you.
obama was not born here, if he was he would release his birth certificate, no one would go through all this if he could prove otherwise, as for jerry he suckss a## anyways
