Roommate of Mike Starr Details Rocker's Final Hours, Drug Use
by Hilton Hater at .The day after former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr was found dead in his home, we may have a better idea of what led to this tragedy.
While autopsy results have not been revealed, Starr's roommate tells TMZ his friend was "mixing" methadone and anxiety medication hours before he died. He had reportedly been using the former in an effort to get sober, while downing the latter to deal stress from his arrest last month.
Says the roommate: "Mike was a beautiful person who was fighting to stay sober... I am going to miss him greatly."

I miss mike, all of Seattle does
I knew and spent time fighting my mutual demons with Mike. Very nice person unless he was high - but isn't that true with us all? Everyone has their points of view about addiction and only an addict and REALLY understand - particularly one of many years like Mike and me. I don't think he ever had alot of hope that he would stay sober - same as me. It just becomes "what you do". If you have a negative comment about that - keep it to yourself. We know what we SHOULD do - sounds easy! It's NOT!
Mike Starr in my opinion was the best bassist ever! Sorry to his family and friends that knew him well. Rock music will live on but it will be less without the best!
