Josh Hartnett starred in Pearl Harbor, but no pearl necklaces were dispensed on his watch - at least not on tape.

The handsome star is demanding an apology and has slapped a defamation lawsuit against Britain's Daily Mirror for rumors of a sex tape - showcasing alleged "sexual dalliances" in a public area of a London hotel, or so says the paper.

Hartnett called the publication's purported claims: "Not only untrue but a complete fabrication, defamatory and unsubstantiated."

That about covers it.

Josh Hartnett added that the supposed sex tape of him is "complete rubbish. The paper said it was 'rumored' I was caught on CCTV. But how can you have a rumor about a video? It would be on the Internet [by] now."

That didn't stop the Lauren Conrad sex tape rumors from popping in and out of the news for like two years, but point taken, J-Hart.
