The controversial Vanity Fair photos, for which Miley Cyrus has already apologized for, have been released online.
In the accompanying interview to the magazine shoot, the young singer explained her decision to pose topless, albeit with a blanket covering her body:
"I had a big blanket on. And I thought, This looks pretty, and really natural. I think it's really artsy. [And] it wasn't in a skanky way.⦠And you can't say no to [photographer Annie Leibovitz]. She's so cute. She gets this puppy-dog look and you're like, O.K."
Is the infamous picture skanky, Miley? No. But is it inappropriate for a 15-year old? Yes. You and your family should have known better.
Here's a behind-the-scenes look at a series of the Vanity Fair pics in question. Click on each for enlarged versions...
What do you think, readers? Did Miley Cyrus need to apologize for these shots? Are they too racy for someone her age? Do they change your view of her?

How disappointing! Way too young for shots like that. No wonder our 11-13 yr.old girls are in such a mess these days. Miley, what happened to your sense of decency, your loyalty to the young fans that put you where you are? My daughters will no longer be supporting your career. Hope you get your head on straight before it's too late. There's enough Britney's and Paris's in the world. Shame on you Cyrus family for allowing those shots to be made of your underage daughter. I guess it really was all about the fame and money!! No 30-something men out there will be drueling all over their copies. How sick!

i think that those pictures were too racy for her age and that she needed to apollogize but my view of her now is a good role model that should learn from her mistakes.she still is a role model cause she did know better than to actually go nude all the way.IM'a BIG FAN.

I am 15 years old too, and im not a hoe like miley cyrus she is the biggest fag in this world her father should be put away for even agreeing with letting her take pictures like that. Isnt this chick supossed to be a role model? If so for who... future tramps?

Do I think they are appropriate for a 15 year old? No. Do I think it should be getting the negative attention it is getting, no as well.
Children of which she is, do not need to be sexualized like this, I blame her parents #1...dumb move folks...# 2 the photographers...but they would have her completely nude if it would sell mags. She is a child a PEDOPHILES DREAM! Come on...I find it sad.

Miley is such a good girl and doing really well. People must try to find things to ruin her reputation and that is sickening! Just leave her alone! She is doing well. She has a strong family influence and she will continue to flourish.
People need to stop and take a look at their own lives and ask yourself, what if that was me? How would I feel? She did nothing wrong. Leave her alone and let her live!!!!!

What a prude! Assuming they didn't withhold any racier photos, these pix were G-rated just like her act. Put on a halter top and you see more skin. Admittedly, the sheet may suggest something a little sexy, but apologizing for the "nudity" is completely unnecessary.

Nothing to be ashamed of. She will make an extra gazillion dollars because of it though, she won't be too upset about that.
