He’s accused of cheating — it’s right there on the divorce document.
But since Ashley says that there’s more, a woman’s claim that Jay knocked her up while cheating on Ashley sounds oddly credible.
Is the alleged baby due later this year really Jay’s?
Ashley has played coy, for contractual reasons, and until a few days ago, Jay remained silent, too.
But on the eve of the premiere of Happily Ever After? … Jay Smith took to Instagram to finally speak up.
Is Jay going to be a father?
… Or, well, a baby daddy? Between the premiere and an avalanche of fan questions, Jay has finally been forced to address the claim that he knocked up a side piece while cheating on Ashley.
He is definitely accused of cheating on her
Weeks ago, Ashley announced that Jay was facing deportation and she seemed to celebrate it, imply that he had cheated. Now, he’s accused of much more than that.
Here’s the unconfirmed accusation:
A woman claiming to be Jay’s mistress took to social media to claim that he knocked her up and that “baby Jay” is due some time in October.
But is it true?
As we look through Jay’s personal history, it certainly seems likely, but let’s hear what he has to say for himself.
Jay and Ashley met in Jamaica
Ashley immediately noticed Jay in a nightclub because he was, well, tall and hot. He’s a super fit 20-year-old and she was just instantly horny for him. She was just in town for a friend’s wedding, but the two hooked up and apparently were great together … at first.
But Jay didn’t really take to monogamy
They had a non-binding ceremony in Jamaica before he ever came to the US, and Ashley was warned that Jay may have cheated with at least two girls while he was waiting to get his visa. Ashley dismissed it, saying that even if Jay had cheated while they were apart, it wasn’t her business. (For the record, unless they’d established that “anything goes” before the wedding, it absolutely matters)
He blew it
Within those first few days after their Vegas wedding, Jay downloaded Tinder, started chatting with various girls, and FaceTimed a girl while making plans to meet up. Ashley caught him video chatting, which may be the only reason that he didn’t physically cheat.
Ashley was all kinds of pissed
Jay — who punched a hole in the wall out of frustration (which is a tremendous red flag all by itself, folks) — didn’t think that it was fair that she considered it “cheating” when he hadn’t actually gotten to lay any extramarital pipe.
Ashley took him back
She explained that she felt responsible and, hey, it wasn’t physical cheating. That came in handy as, months later, Ashley experienced two hospitalizations and lengthy recovers that followed.
Sure, she filed for divorce once
The January 11 filing lasted for all of 11 days before she took it back. She and Jay seemed very happy together for a while.
But not everything was on the up-and-up
In February, Jay was visited by ICE. (Please note: this photo was snapped by a police officer)
And fans are alarmed by what they’ve seen
We do not yet know the context of the police arriving at Ashley’s home as we’ve seen previewed on Happily Ever After? … but it can’t be good.
But now, they’re done
Ashley accuses Jay of cheating — she’s said this on Instagram, in interviews, and even on their divorce documents, where the word “adultery” is there clear as day. Jay has a deportation hearing on May 8.
But … is Jay going to be a baby daddy?
According to Jay, he’s not. On the Saturday before the Happily Ever After? premiere, Jay addressed the rumor in his Instagram Stories.
He says that he did NOT get anyone pregnant.
Jay insists that he’s not a “little boy” (an odd thing when talking about impregnating someone while cheating on your wife) and that he would never be “that stupid” to knock up someone while cheating.
Is he telling the truth?
We hope that we’re not giving anyone a big shock here, but reality stars and cheaters are both generally prone to lying. It’s an intrinsic part of both roles, usually. Jay has lied on Instagram before, obviously.
Is he trying to save face?
Or maybe he’s telling the truth. Or maybe this woman really thinks she’s pregnant with his baby but it’s not his. Or maybe HE is sure it’s not his, but he’s wrong. Or maybe she’s not even pregnant, and is an Instagram troll trying to stir up drama. Or maybe it’s an account made by one of Ashley’s friends. Who knows with this crowd, you know?
But there’s definitely more to this story
Ashley has said that “America will be shocked” when they learn more about her breakup with Jay. Considering that nobody is shocked by a known cheater once again cheating, there has to be something to this story that has yet to be revealed.
