So, so many people don’t like David Eason.
Think about it: we all know him from his time with Jenelle Evans, right?
The people who love Jenelle hate him for what he’s done to her over the years, and the people who hate Jenelle tend to, you know, hate him too.
Really the only people who seem to like him are the people who dislike Jenelle and also share his political views and also care enough to have such strong opinions on the former partners of former reality stars.
So yeah, it’s not a lot of people.
But according to what David said in this brand new interview, he’s basically the most beloved guy out there.
And that’s just the tip of this crazy, crazy iceberg …
What a Guy
Teen Mom fans have been aware of David Eason’s existence for a few years now, ever since Jenelle met him on Tinder and deemed him her new soulmate in the fall of 2015.
Putting It Lightly
And since then … well, things have gotten weird.
Yikes
Soon after they went public, people found out about his criminal history, and also about his alleged penchant for domestic violence — his last girlfriend had claimed in court documents that he’d pushed her around when she was pregnant with their child, and that he’d also threatened to kill her.
Naturally
But you know Jenelle — she still went all in.
Gross
As we saw on Teen Mom 2, it wasn’t long into their relationship when David started being controlling. He didn’t want her to talk to Nathan Griffith, and instead he suggested that he be the one to coordinate visits and drop-offs and anything else to do with Kaiser, which was obviously inappropriate.
Dang
He also started being weird about Jenelle talking to her own mother, dear Barbara. Barb said pretty early on that she thought David was the worst boyfriend Jenelle ever had, and looking back now, we’re pretty sure she was right.
Poor Kaiser
In addition to being controlling and trying to destroy her relationships with other people, he also began being mean to Kaiser — remember when he called him a bitch for crying?
Oh No
But as awful as that was to watch, it was nothing compared to the accusations that later came out — the accusations from Nathan and his mother about how David had been physically abusing Kaiser.
So Sad
On more than one occasion, Nathan and his mom claimed that Kaiser had told them that David had done things to him — once they said that he’d said David had punched him in the head, and another time they alleged that he said he’d beaten him with a stick. That’s when Nathan shared those photos of the suspicious bruises on Kaiser’s backside.
Getting Worse
And then, of course, came the 911 call last year, the one where Jenelle sobbed hysterically and told the operator that David had pushed her to the ground so hard she thought he broke a bone.
Oh, Nugget …
Things kept getting scarier and scarier, but then earlier this year, David brutally killed Jenelle’s dog, Nugget. And that’s when things took a turn.
An Uproar
Police opened an investigation, CPS took the children away, and MTV announced they wouldn’t be filming Jenelle anymore for Teen Mom 2.
Standing by Her Man
Even through all of that, Jenelle stood by him and defended him. At one point, she tried to say that yeah, he killed the dog, but it was because he’s from the country. Like all country boys murder their family pets. It was wild.
A Change
But in October, something changed. She went to New York by herself to meet with MTV executives, and shortly after that, she left David altogether.
Making a Run for It
She took Ensley and Kaiser, moved to Tennessee, and got a restraining order against him after providing proof that he’d abused her on several different occasions over the past couple of years.
Ugh
This probably goes without saying, but he hasn’t been handling it well at all.
This Guy
He’s been saying awful things about Jenelle, and he’s been insisting that he’ll have his day in court and that the truth will be shocking to us all. He’s insinuated that Jenelle was the abusive one, not him.
Wow
And in this new interview he just did, he got even weirder.
Riiiight
The interview is a follow-up to one he did a few weeks ago, after his home was allegedly burglarized. He said then that someone had broken in when he was in Tennessee for a court date, and that they’d stolen all of his tools and his boat.
Sure, Dave
He also seemed to hint that Jenelle had something to do with it, which, yeah, OK, David.
Moving On
But now, in this new interview, he says that he’s in “great spirits,” even though his stuff was stolen and he’s spending Christmas as a “single father” with poor Maryssa.

What an inspiration, right?
Such a Champ
He says that dealing with the break-in was tough on him mentally, and the hardest part of it all was seeing Ensley’s room ransacked. He’s gotten it all straigtened up now though, but it will still probably a while before she sees it again.
… Good?
In addition to spending time cleaning everything up, he says he’s also been spending quality time with Maryssa and that they’ve been getting closer, which is … nice? Maybe?
Poor Maryssa
Considering all the things we’ve heard about what Maryssa dealt with living with David and Jenelle, it’s hard to call it a good thing, but we guess it beats them growing further apart.
Neat
Apparently they’ve been playing a lot of chess together, and Maryssa’s been enjoying it so much that she’s signed up for a chess club at school, and that’s sweet.
Hobbies!
David’s also been teaching her how to play the drums — he says she’s a “natural.”
OK Buddy
Not only does he say his relationship with Maryssa is better with Jenelle out of the picture — he’s getting along better with everyone now. As he puts it, “I guess I didn’t know how popular I was, people actually want to talk to me and hang out.â€Â
We Bet
Yep, he’s living a “stress-free life” these days, and it’s pulling “good people” in.
All Right
He says that he can “only see my life getting better from here” — he’s got all his Christmas shopping done, his bills are paid, and he’s even got friends “in the music business” who’ve been asking him to release a single. Seriously, he said that.
What a Mystery
We’re not sure if David thinks that anyone actually believes all of this, or if he doesn’t care, but man … this is getting crazier by the day, huh?
